Read the following quotation and write a 50-word response that shows you understand it and whether you agree or disagree with it.
"When students find their voice and understand the power and magic of words, they are capable of expressing a myriad of emotions: frustration, anger, sadness, joy, wonder, curiosity. Through writing, students allow teachers to gain insight into their lives and innermost thoughts. Through writing, students can also share their strongest memories, deepest fears, and hopes for the future. And in the classrooms where writing is shared, empathy, acceptance, and appreciation for others takes hold. The benefits go far beyond academics. When students find their voice, they can often discover more about themselves and the people around them."

Hello student writers!
You are invited to go on a journey with this class. I will be your guide, and your fellow students will be your companions.
This blog is a place to publish your writing where it will be seen by others in your class. All students are expected to post their essays and journal entries to the blog, as well as to read other student blogs and comment on them.
Comment Guidelines
Before you can write a high quality comment on someone else's writing, you have to read it closely. Then, you should follow these rules:
Let them know you appreciate the work they put into their writing.
Pick something specific out of their writing and tell them how you related to it.
Write from 25-50 words.
Tell them, in a polite way, what details they might have added to make the post more interesting or to make their topic sentence and thesis support more effective.

In my opinion, I agree with that quotation. I usually put my emotions into my passage, so my teacher and friends could understand me more. They can help me with my assignment. For example, I can write easier about my feelings about love or my family which I’m hardly to talk to everyone.

Also, for English learner, writting down something can help us keep thinking in English. If we do this,not only do we improve our writting but also we enhance our thinking in English.^^"""

ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea to let students learning how to share their thinkings, ideas, and opinions to forward our English skills. Also, we can learn different sentences or instruction from my classmates.
I agree with this qautation. I used different kind of blog before, but I never use in English. I think this is good chance to show our paragraph to others. I also can give this webside to my parants let them see my paragraph, and they will know what I learned.

ReplyDeleteI am agree with this quotation. My English skill is very low. Especially, writing is very difficult to me. If my classmates read my writing, write comments, and fix some mistakes, my writing skill is more upgrade than now. I think that is very good idea~!

ReplyDeleteI think I like this idea Mr. Jim. I start like it because we can improve our writing in many ways. When more than one see your paragraph and correct for you, or give new idea our writing will improve. Also, it's a good practice for writing on the computer what is something important for the TOFEL; moreover, we can't forget that will be mor communicate between the classmate.

Yes, I agree with this. I think it is such a good way to help us to improve our writing and typing. We can learn different ideas from our classmates and learn more about them, because in the blog, we share our writing and through writing, we can “gain insight into their lives and innermost thoughts”. ReplyDeleteStudents can get some benefits from writing. First, teacher can understand what students deeply thought is. Secondly, students can write their memories and future no matter that is good or bad to express their feeling. Finally, students share their writing in the class so that they can get feedback from each other. Over all, keeping writing is that you can get a lot advantages from it than you thought.
I think through writing is a good way to interact with teacher and classmates. For example, a shy student who afraid to talk in public, instead of that, he can write it down and teacher will know his opinions.

ReplyDeleteStudents learned how to write a paragraph at school. We need teacher to help us correct our writing. Every day, we have different topic to practice our writing. Teacher could through our paragraph not only check the grammar but also know our personality. When teacher know us more, teacher could help us more. Moreover, in the classroom, we can share idea to classmates; classmates always loved to talk about their thinking, and we can know different ways on the same topic.

According to Sherry Posnick's passage, it is talking about writing can help students using powerful and magic words to express their own opinions. I agree this idea which is sharing everyone's opinion and thinking. Each of topics may have different views or points from my classmates, so I can consult their ideas to improve another knowledge which I do not know or never think about. Also, I am learning how to make a nice paragraph or essay ro decribe what I think and to understand what I am.

Everyone has different emotions when they met different things. In addition, we use our emotions, we could make someone understand and notice us. This is a idea to perceive your words, speaking, and body languages. It could let you more dynamic. Therefore, everyone has their own styles to perform their feeling. For example, you felt sad when you got C on the test. And your face would have the sad emotions, maybe your friends or family would notice your feeling. We could discover and notice about ourselves and the people around ourselves.
